Websites and magazines that flip photos so that it blends into the page better, but don't seem to notice that people are writing on blackboards in reverse, and logos on clothing are all backwards.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I've just spent a good deal of time finding a cheap and suitable supplier that has all of the hardware I want so I can save a little more on delivery charges. After translating and double checking everything I go to make a payment and the bastards only accept Danish methods of payment. What's the frakking point of displaying the visa symbol if you don't accept it from udlanders? I really should spend my money elsewhere but the prices and delivery times are good.

That really winds me up too! If they just took that extra bit of effort...

I get home at 11:53 to find a "Sorry we missed you" note from the postie with a time on it of 12:00, so I presume I must have only missed him by a few minutes. Search the surrounding area, I do, but find him, I do not (8-(

That's one of my top ten pet peeves, and why I have just about everything delivered to my work address.

Students who turn up at 4pm to hang their work for the assessed exhibition and suddenly think the rest of us who've been there since 9am are going to drop everything and run around after them.

My boss tells me to read around 25 short papers in preparation for discussion tomorrow. I google for the study and it takes me to a website. The website tells me to click "here" for the publications. The page it takes me to tells me to click "here" for the publications. This takes me back to the first page! Gah! I've texted my boss but no reply so far.

Our comms room has over heated! Using a couple of portable air con units to cool it down. Aircon man is on the way.

NAS down for 2 weeks, 0 bytes recovered
Kicking the hardware intern up the arse to get the work done (we NEED the data recovered so the NAS can be returned as it's faulty for the 3rd time), only to find out he has seriously messed up his own pc, to the point that no-one can access his C:\!!!!
Double facepalm

No backup then? Or is the NAS drive the backup device?

Backup is separate and used as a dev resource pool more than anything, but is Raid1 so meant to be more robust.... but it's a lacie.

Bleh, sort of got a mini-slap on my hand by my Supervisors with regards to my Dissertation Project.
Mainly how in a closed group of people (students and staff that are with Uni and/or working with the "Organisation") they don't want me mentioning certain words that comprise the main focus of my topic and how i'm to keep as hush about my project as i can.
Whilst i understand the project is of a sensitive nature and a few wrong words here and there have the potential to cause public panic (if it were blown completely out of proportion), the fact is that the way i've now been told to put a "spin" on things just reeks of "cover up" and whereas before my project would have been "oh that's really interesting" it's more "oh that's really suspicious".
Not to mention if the "Organisation" were worried about our students blabbing about things, they shouldn't have agreed to take them on board (and we've all signed the relevant agreements with regards to sensitive data).
Ugh.

Unless those few wrong words are 'outbreak of ebola' it all sounds a bit on the over cautious side, I have to be honest with you. Jon

Haha, with a degree in Biomedical Sciences with my Dissertation in Microbiology, i could totally see that ¬.¬ However, thankfully it's not . As always, it's definitely a case of it being blown up out of proportion, however I do agree with them that the Press (which is what they're worried about) can always manage to make what was originally fairly innocuous sound like a big conspiracy to oppress the people.
