Thanks everyone. Not counting my chickens until I have a signed contract, but the weight on my shoulders has certainly lifted.
Thanks for the choccies, but I prefer twiglets

IROC-Z has her MOT! An hours labour on the handbrake, and one free retest later, and she's back on the road. Have been having fun driving back home in second gear. It's far too easy to be a hooligan in this car, but then I've missed her all week.

Funnily enough we did have a discussion about this during the following tea break. It's not calibrated, although it is uniquely identified (Jane's Hammer (Tarzan Dropped His while swinging from a vine)). In the past I have used what might technically be called a calibrated hammer (or more specifically a drop hammer of known weight and at a specific height) to do explosivity testing (Impact test). And well done Dave.

A client liked one of my designs for their logo. Which means I ought to get paid for the work. So, my self-confidence is at an all-time high for this year.

Zavvi just had a misprice on all ps3 games, showing up as ~90% off
I had a couple of orders cancelled but a friend of mine just had his £70 order (so £600ish worth of games) dispatched!

I've just managed to do a Permeability Plugging Apparatus test without messing up the results or blowing myself up.

Just finishing off the letter to my mobile phone provider telling them as I will be more than 10% worse off with their new changes I am terminating my contract early. Means I get to keep my Samsung Galaxy S too (which arrived unlocked (double win)) and I can go onto the network I wanted originally

Yep, I didn't agree to pay 10%+ more a month with my usage, and the new contract changes will cost me more. They don't change their settings often because of this Didn't actually finish the letter in the end, will do it when I get home lol

Yes, if the increase will put you at a material disadvantage (i.e. if continuing your normal usage will cost you more as a result).

I submitted an invoice yesterday morning via email, and the client paid within the hour. And I shall add that my local library has a copy of a 1948 book called "The Other Side of the Hill" which I want to read.
