I have a dream of moving to Ireland and setting up a workshop and make furniture. Real furniture, non of your Ikea stuff. Nothing against it but it will never become an antique.

I beat you to that one. My first job was in electronics where we (the company) made products for BT and Royal Mail as well as a number of "black boxes" used in a variety of industries and a motorcycle alarm the name of which escapes me. I used to inspect incoming goods as well as inspecting work in progress, so I seldom "made" anything. As an electrician I suppose I never made anything apart from the aforementioned "mess" which I was normally required to clear up afterwards. I still don't make anything in my job and to be honest, I don't really "make" stuff at home. I do DIY and I build PCs, but as for actually manufacturing something- I don't think that I have ever done that in an organised and regular manner.

This is a mainly tech site... if we had boards dedicated to how to combat TB in cattle, things might be different.

I make food for customers. Some people call me a chef, but I don't consider myself a chef. I consider myself a student who has to pay his way some-how! Anyway, I make food. Should that mean I vote pie or cheese.
