No. You're just being provocative, intentionally. You know it, we know it.

Yup. It's also much older than Hinduism.

It's the same on every PHPbb install as far as I can determine.

My first thought was the avatar would cause some sort of controversy, but I also figured I shouldn't assume what it meant to Bratty :|

Personally, i don't understand why the star of david should be controversial. The swastika on the other hand ..

I accidently chose swastika one :P its very interesting how it offends when its a hindu peace symbol, the swastika is also a freemasonry symbol

I am aware of this. In fact, before Hitler nabbed the symbol for his own needs, it was used everywhere. Chelmsford Town Hall has a decorative frieze made up of them. We have a copy of Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book with one on the spine. There was quite a cult surrounding it. That’s all changed. I think there is a sewing machine in the family where such a device has been scratched out.

The problem is not so much the symbol you chose, but the rendering of it. I think the black symbol on a white disk on a red ground was probably the wrong variant to pick. If anything, people may interpret it as representing your own personal views.

Spot of history - Hitler’s swastika was reversed because it was in a stained glass window in the church he went to as a child, and he always saw its shadow cast on the wall.

Wtf is wrong with everybody?? Bratty has been this way for a long time. We all have a good humoured joke about it and hopefully, on occasion he grows and so do we, as a result of our interactions.

He can have whatever the hell he wants for an avatar. It's his choice. I don't understand the need to make an issue out of it. Provocation of serious discussion about the origins of symbols or Zionism or fascism or hinduism or whatever - that's cool. Way cool in fact. But bashing the guy coz he's clearly got social and communicational problems is out of order IMHO.

There are some incredibly intelligent people on this forum and it's disappointing sometimes when stuff like this happens.
