Yes, I asked about this and he said that I'm not responsible for it and if anyone tries to get me to pay they are talking rubbish.

Depending on your rent contract you might want to check if there are any recurring fees for renewal. My letting agent adds £20 pcm if you go onto a rolling monthly contract after the intital 6 months is up or you can renew for another fixed term (also has a fee). Blood sucking skum that they are Also, do you have any magazine or internet subscriptions (for online games for example)?

I got done for a "contract renegotiation fee" every 6/12 months after the initial 6 month contract (with it's own "contract negotiation fee"). That was £180 wasted during my year in Farnborough.

Annoying, aren't they. It also occurs to me that Council Tax (and possibly your water bill depending on supplier and metered/un-metered) are taken over 10 months not 12 so will be higher than the total divided by 12 (on the plus side you do get 2 months off).

I didn't recheck the advert, but have you checked you have everything you need? My flat had a fridge with an "ice tray" bit - crap for ice-creams/freezing food. It also had no microwave. I noticed neither of these at the time since I was interested in the flat itself and checking it was okay/surrounding area etc.
Ended up having to buy a microwave and a freezer unit.

Haven't had a microwave for over a year now. Not really missed it either.

I don't really use one either. It's used A) for re-heating stuff and B) only when there's too many people waiting to use the kitchen and I'm in a rush. Ideally I'd never use it. *awaits JJ*

I used mine this evening to reheat yesterday's gravy. I could have easily done it in a pan.
Although I don't use it much, I wouldn't want to be without one.

Why would you want to give your money to rich bankers and Bilderburgers?? Oli, I'd double check the service charge thing and look at the paperwork - just to be on the safe side. The rest looks good, cloaked_wolf makes a good point about making sure. As for microwaves, I'm trying to ween myself off, but that involves learning to cook
