Wildly swinging back on topic there, Edd. You should watch yourself and make sure this doesn't become a habit for you.

There are some lovely bits of Essex, I should say. Most of it I dislike is the bit closest to London. Horrid.

I live in that which was once known as the Garden of England but now has so much concrete it's more a patio before you get to the water feature of the English Channel.

By the way, adidan, I'm off up to Wigan at the end of this week. I have done Manchester, Kendal and Glasgow, too. Oh, and York was beautiful. It's just that getting through Essex bit that kills me. ;)

And you didn't give me a shout! :P

It was over a decade ago, before we virtually met.

That's no excuse!

Neither is the fact that I didn't move up to Manchester until 2000... April 26th to be precise. it was a Wednesday. :geek:

I wouldn't plan on spending much time sight-seeing if I was you . Sadly, they've knocked down a lot what was actually interesting about the town and replaced it with 'modern' rather soul-less architecture. Less mills, more malls.

Sadly, depending on your point of view, the most sightseeing I'll manage is between whatever sports complex the model railway exhibition will be in and the digs.

Still, looking forward to the journey. The club's last outing was to Romford, and it was a disaster.

That's cool. Lovin' the Fab Four on the zebra crossing!

Pity Best Beloved can't really see that. He's an Underground fan.
