Taiyo Yuden

http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=taiyo+yuden&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=BDsPTYeQIoSChQe2oZW4Dg&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CFEQrQQwAg

It's Japanese, not Chinese, Korean or Philippines or any other crap. More expensive than most, but better physical quality. I've not used their DVDs because I have no need for DVDs, but their CDs are excellent for music and appear to be better machined around the edges than the machined crap churned out by most everybody these days.

I use TY for regular DVDs, but they don't make DL, do they?

+1, used loads of those in my time :)

And I agree on Oke's machined point, you can actually feel the difference just handling some discs :o

Reliable DVD-/+R DL media
Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Yes, but easier than typing “DVD+R DL or DVD-R DL”.

I meant optical media being reliable.

Arise thread!

Burnt 8 DL discs from the Verbatim cake tonight.
Not a bad one so far. This pleases me.
