Not to mention their electricity bills, gas bills and so on.
Perhaps if they were paid a more realistic wage but then had to pay for the things that everyone else has to pay for then the actual impact of, for example, fuel and electricity prices may make them more effective at understanding the situation.
The fuel price hike would not really be an issue if VAT hadn't been increased. The recent penny increase has been, effectively, a 4p increase per litre according to economists. As for it being a 'green' tax, well, where's the alternative? There are none. Electic cars? Not viable and MPs seem to forget that they use electricity and much of our electricity still comes from fossil fuels.
It is funny. Some of the bankers who were, in a big part, responsible are getting nice bonuses. We're idiots. I don't mind pulling my weight so long as everyone else does.
As for the ConDems in general, they keep coming up with bad ideas and then changing their minds. They have no idea what they're doing.
