Wow.
This is plain stupid.
How could someone actually act like that? Something must be so wrong in her head. So, so wrong. Stupid biitch!

We had a run of "I'll pull over one inch towards the nearside, MAYBE put my indicator on and PERHAPs slow down by two miles an hour but I'm [LIFTED] if I'm actually going to stop and/or get out of your way" drivers yesterday but this stupid cow really takes the biscuit.
The only thing that I have seen that is truly beyond the pale is cars following us through traffic on dual carriageways at speeds of 80-90mph, but that is nowhere near as moronic as this case.

It's a shame that people like this are allowed to live. She should have a permanent ban.

Tbh emergency vehicles should be equipped with some sort of shield, just around bumper level.
Then they can just barge through cars like this.

Yeah, but you've got to make sure you finish them off, or you're duty-bound to stop and administer first aid.

trigen_killer, is it still the case that if you are under blues and twos that you are automatically in the wrong if something happens?

No mention in the article of how long she would lose her licence for. 10 years would be too short!
Emergency vehicles are never automatically in the right, their response depends on goodwill from the public.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I was on the M1 last week when it was shut for hours.
Some smart-ass decided to drive up the hard shoulder. You can understand his frustration after 3 hours in the blistering heat, but it's so obviously wrong.
Then a few more followed him.
After 10 minutes, the hard shoulder was blocked as solid as the road.
Then 4 ambulances and several highway patrol vehicles came. It must have taken them an hour to go 5 miles, people trying to pull out of the way when there was nowhere to go.
I seriously hope every one of those idiots was fined the maximum amount.

You can stop there and I'd agree with you completely Had to undertake a number of times on the M1 today because of cars in the middle/outer lanes seemingly being repelled from the inside lane and not leaving proper gaps when they pulled out as I was overtaking them (WTF?!) In fareness I did partially hold up a police car as I got back with sirens on, but he came from the side (so if I was to pull over I would have pulled into them) and only put the sirens on approaching the roundabout thing (it's like a split roundabout)

I've undertaken cars in the middle lane. And outer lane. All whilst I'm in the inside lane. Doing 70mph! Just don't understand it when people don't move back into the leftmost lane after overtaking.

I know you aren't meant to, but I have had no choice when it was that or sudden and heavy braking, funny during rush hour how I can camp on the inside lane with the lorries and still keep a better average speed than most cars
