+1 But for me to end up where I’d want to be (a bar in Brussels) requires travel through Stratford. Cock and arse.

You'd be welcome to leave your car on our drive, and we can then get you to the fast trains at Chatham.
There is always a way. Even a rowing boat up the Thames Estuary would be better than nothing!

Harwich is the only ferry terminal I can get to by train without going through London. Trains from both Chelmsford and Epping (Central line) go through Stratford.

Can't you fly from Stansted?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Don’t like flying, and neither does the other half. Much prefer the trains.

I'd have thought that electrically powered would make more sense. I read about it in Karun Chandok's tweet.

I kinda like that the Olympics will get a lot of people round TV sets, like the old days, when this was all fields...

Not necessarily. Many households have more than one TV so will be used by others in the household.

I only have a 32" LCD which I have in the main room now, which was in my old bedroom. Though how big a screen do you really need to watch some events?

Assuming the events will be filmed in HD (maybe even 3D), the bigger the better
