And there it is. Gone. Two weeks early.
Perhaps the PTB read here, saw the spam, and decided to just pull the plug early.

Aye. That's a part of my life that's now completely gone. Onwards and sideway.

Sorry, slow to this... So that's just tough sh!t if you don't use Twitter or Facebook then?? To be fair, the forums were never the same after Dennis fcuked about with them, splitting the PCPro and MU forums, but still sad to see it disappear. Let's just hope the hamster was given a decent send-off...

ode to hammy ... In the rising of the sun and its going down, We remember hammy. In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter, We will remember hammy. In the opening buds and in the rebirth of spring, We remember hammy. In the blueness of the sky and in the warmth of summer, We remember hammy. In the rustling of leaves and in the beauty of autumn, We remember hammy. In the beginning of the year and when it ends, We will remember hammy. When we are weary and in need of strength, We will remember hammy. When we are lost and are sick of heart, We remember hammy. When we have Joys we yearn to share, We remember hammy. So long as we live, hammy too shall live, For hammy is now a part of us, As we remember hammy. hammy shall always be remembered ...

It's a metaphorical tear. I began my online life with the old MacUser forums. I made a lot of real life friends through the forums. Compare it to, say, somewhere special in your childhood, where you made lots of really good friends, had a really good time and enjoyed visiting every day, only to find out it had burned down overnight and it wouldn't be rebuilt. It's that kind of feeling. Something from my past has gone forever, and I will miss it even though I've moved on and the old place was barely a shadow of its former glory.
