That's so annoying. Yesterday I was on the production platform and there was a perfect view to this competition. The underside of a jack up oil rig with the sea in the background.
The only problem.... No photos allowed. I doubt they'd have let me take a hot work permit out for that even if I could have been bothered with all the paper work. My phone camer is crap too.

Is that the whole electronic equipment next to inflammable materials malarky?

You should ask for a risk assessment of using a camera in a sealed underwater housing/bag.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Yeah, for some reason they get a bit twitchy about a potential spark when you're literally stood directly on top of a dozen or so live gas wells.

Do they ban lightning as well?

Do they ban lightning as well?

All the lighting is sealed to prevent sparks etc reaching the atmosphere. They'd need a hot work permit to open them up.

Sorry, misread that.

I've no idea how they deal with lightning.

OK peeps

Comp closes tonight at midnight and I'm a tad upset that more of you haven't managed to find a horizon - I thought they were all over the place

Anyway - spent a few hours trying to get my shot but the props beat me so it's plan B ;)
