Yeah, see I think I was born in the wrong country.

I love it when you walk into a store over there and they're immediately welcoming and ultra-smiley. Especially when you're by yourself shopping for clothes and they're girls... ;)

Everybody in this country is miserable (me included at the moment) and that's why I've preferred working abroad for much of the past 18 months and will be looking to do so again as soon as possible.

You may think the list makes it "fake", but it rarely appears fake to me overseas. People are actually a lot happier in customer facing roles. It may not be very British, but I think it's an interesting list and probably a lot of people could benefit...

Given the number of end-of-world predictions I've seen on this forum, as well as the serious consideration that some are inclined to give to theories about governments creating poisonous vaccines in order to thin out an overpopulated world and silliness like that. I have to say some of you guys are a little pessimistic by nature, and perhaps ought to give everything except the gratitude muscle molestation a go.

Incidentally, if anyone who doesn't have the sense to do important things before other stuff reads a list of things to do to improve their jobs.... doesn't putting that item at number 6 send a mixed message?

I'm afraid most of that article is either blindingly obvious, totally irrelevant or just annoying.

Seriously, prioritising important and urgent jobs Isn't something that needs to be explained!

I guess I'm lucky to have had a career where I like most of the people I work with, and enjoy the technical challenges. Of course some jobs are annoying, but then I also enjoy bitching about things!

I would say 7/8 of those I apply on a regular basis.

Unfortunately I can't avoid negative people.

"Once you're done with the workday, fill the remainder of your hours with nonwork-related activities that bring you joy and help you relax." That one could be a bit tough, as there is nothing better than going for a dive without customers. So work related but it does bring joy and happiness.
