I quite fancy the idea of living in India for a couple of years. My primary problem is finding somewhere that never gets too hot (I suffer badly above 25C, or 30C if I'm not moving and it's not humid), has an interesting culture and something for me to get involved in. Living up a mountain would be cool, but I imagine I'd quickly become bored and hungry.
I also love dense jungle because it just seems so homely. I have a fairly extreme passion for trees and wildlife in general, but I suspect I'd die quite quickly from the heat and biting things.
Despite my love of all things Japanese, I suspect if I stayed there I'd spend too much money and have most of my delusions shattered.
Quite fancy Eastern Europe because of all the pretty ladies that keep emailing me.
Generally though, I CBA to travel. You can see much more on the TV than you ever could IRL - even if you can't actually smell the oil.

No, and I'm rubbish with languages. However, if I did a couple of years working in a charity or something I'm sure I'd pick some up. I think many educated Indians have excellent English anyway.

I've never seen the appeal of India. If it's not pouring out of your bum, it's the grinding widespread poverty. Or now the terrorism.

Top of my list at the moment is Hawaii but God knows when I'll ever get there. It's got rainforest with unique flora and fauna, volcanoes, great beaches, big wave surfing (if you want that kind of thing) and so on.
Also New Zealand and Australia, Japan, Galapagos and I'd like to see more of the National Parks of USA.

LOL, I did ponder that after I'd posted it. I tend to call women "girls" if they're younger than me and unmarried, in the same way my local barman calls me & my mate "lads" despite us being almost 40... It has often been pointed out to me that Birmingham, Leicester or several other cities and towns are far closer and more temperate. However; there's no questioning the fact that there are far more single Indian girls in India, and far fewer English gentlemen in need of a wife. There's also the religious aspect - I'm vaguely Hindu, so the country is significant to me for somewhat irrational reasons. I'd like to actually smell the Ganges.

I've heard it's... unique. Or not, if you've ever found a dead sheep that's been out in the sun, apparently.
