Bell makes a century again to push England's total towards respectability but there's a mini collapse on in the lower order once he got out. Looks like play is going to end with England on roughly 290-7. How we're (apparently) the world's best test team with an upper batting order that's so dreadfully out of form is beyond me....

It's called Jimmy Anderson, with some assistance from Graham Swann. It's the only reason we've ever been in contention I think. Broad does periodically produce some great displays, but he's dangerously close to being the Pieterson of the bowling world.

361 is a better total than I expected them to get, frankly. I have a feeling this one might go to the fifth day too.

And now 96-7. This is quite the collapse.

DRS is cobbling this test. The Aussies are going to lose, but here's no way you should give Agar out for that.

Blimey. Play just started. Nobody thought that was going to happen. Can England bat the remainder (however much that maybe) to retain The Ashes, or will The Baggy Greens triumph in overcast conditions in front of a probably a fairly minimal crowd? There's be little chance of getting the ball dry enough to swing you'd have thought.

This isn't looking too promising today.

I got to go to see Friday's play which was wonderful. It won't go down as being a memorable day in test cricket per se, but it was really nice to be there in person. Found it really quite different to watch in the flesh as opposed to on television. We were about 45 degrees to the wicket, and it made the bowlers look a lot faster and the batsmen look a lot more mal-coordinated compared to how they come across on television.

TV foreshortens the wicket a bit, so the ball appears faster.

So they came off just before lunch with England three down. Came back on at 2PM, bowled five balls, it chucked it down and they went off again. Frankly, the way England are batting, it can rain until 7PM.

Honestly, England's upper order are a complete shower at the moment.

They've been poor all series. I think Bell is the only batsman to have come out of the first three tests with any real credibility.
