Today I learned that on a 1991 Honda CR250, you should set the powervalve system to come on at half to three quarters throttle.

Today I learnt that adults are more petty than school children, and as such will waste time (and thus money) making life hard for themselves and the rest of the team.
Increasingly the term "grow up" has little actual meaning.

I learnt that Nic Cage was paid $20m not to appear in the most recent Superman film (when it was still being kicked around)

I am learning that the National Geographic Channel shows sensationalistic pap loosely disguised as proper science. I’ve seen one programme about Mars which gave a lot of credulity to the face/cities theory and a small bit of proper investigation using topographical data. The programme about the “ancient astronaut” theory seems to be very big on the aliens visiting us, and much less on balancing arguments from mainstream scientists.
We have an “alternative knowledge guru”. He’s getting a lot of time.
It also seems to have a lot of sci-fi B movie footage and people wearing masks to look like the North American greys.
If this was on the sci-fi channel, it would be entertaining, but National Geographic has gone way down in my estimation.

I learnt a few things. One is how the government choose which towns get flood defences built. Another is that Rolls Royce have made nuclear power plants for submarines and ships for about the past 30 years. Another is that nuclear power stations are permanently kept in a state of stalling and always need pushing to keep them going. This stops them from being able to get to a dangerous state. Incidentally, Chernobyl was opposite to this and always had to be throttled down. When the throttling stopped working it went bad.

That you can't just install an OEM XP on an Advent 4211 netbook and expect it to work properly

I learnt that the government want to charge students £7,000 a year to go to university, but for those people whose parents couldn't get their 4rse in gear will be subsidised by those people who will struggle themselves as their parents are just over the cut off point. I hope that with the extra money, universities can get better equipment to support students, because I'm appalled with the lack of resources in many of the departments I've seen and heard about.
I also learnt that even with a tutorial, I still suck at designing graphics...

Today I learned that James Cameron was at one time married to Linda Hamilton.
That's the director of The Terminator married to Sarah Connor.

She also has an identical twin sister, whose arse Arnie 'mistakenly' groped in a 'playful' manner (the scene where they're extracting bullets out of Arnie at the garage)

Today I've learnt that having a pastry chef for a girlfriend may be bad for the waistline! Thank the stars that I have an active job and lifestyle.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

That goes for a majority of machines. I think, from the hundreds of machines I've installed over the years, only 1 has had a video card XP recognises and only 2 had a network adapter! I started to show my girlfriend how to use a computer today. Learnt that Ctrl+Alt has the same function as the AltGr key and that Ctrl+Shirft+T re-opens closed tabs in Firefox (does it in the reverse order they were closed).
