So every day then?

Unless he's at work, in which it's almost every day.

So when he's not at work he's at home?

I'm 48-72 hours, If I go to the gym I will 'rinse' myself, but my skin and hair can't take being washed every day.

I can't do anything with my hair in the mornings until it has been washed. I can't comb it, it springs back into "bedhead" form, no matter what I do - dry combing, wet combing, doesn't matter, either a heavy duty gel (I don't use gels) or wash it with shampoo.

Once a day. Washing isn't the issue. Soap is. Dries the skin. I've switched to a moisturising shower gel which helps.

I use Nivea Men Body Lotion after my shower in the morning and before I go to bed.

Aren't we the cleanest!
Growing up on the farm, water came from the well. The water table would rise and fall to the extent that sometimes we were instructed to s***t in the woods to save water. Baths were, as previously mentioned, rare, whether it was needed or not. I now take a shower every other day or more frequently if the work is grimy or arduous. Which still feels proper decadent.

I just realised that some times I might not have a wash for 1-2 days. Typically weekend and typically if I'm moping. So I'll have a wash on Fri am. I won't on Sat or Sun but by Sun night I'm feeling a bit manky.

Once a day.

At least twice a day when I was a coal miner, for obvious reasons.

What I've noticed is that the students appear to be taking a more 'French' approach to the necessity of personal hygiene.

Usually every day although the amount of body washed varries.

The 'shower' is attached to the bath taps - pull up the knob in the middle of the taps to redirect the flow.
In his infintie wisdom, the landlord decided that only 2 rows of tiles around the bath were necessary so you can't actually stand up to have a shower anyway as it just gets the walls wet and they don't need much extra help in that regard anyway. So, a 'shower' involves perching on the side of the bath or getting in and kneeling down low enough to stay under the tile level. Generally speaking I'll wash the sweatiest bits every day and then do a more thorough job (including washing my hair) every 3 or so.
Why don't you just have a bath you say? Because the bathroom is so small that the bath that is fitted is extremely short and not very wide either, both of which are issues.

I really need to move house.

School sport: Study suggests most pupils never shower after PE
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-30796304

I don't recall PE happening often enough to make a blind bit of difference to one's health, unless you counted the inevitable injuries! In our classes it was always a mixture of those who were competitive, those who were nonplussed, and those who hated it. That study has so many variables as to be nothing but an initial foray.

Not being able to smell if I stink or not, I'm understandably a little paranoid about personal hygiene.
I shower daily. I always shower after I've been to the gym.

Sounds like.

Our bathroom upstairs has the bath under the eves, so I have to kneel in the bath in order to shower up there. Something I had to do for a while during the reneovation.

Luckily we now have a shower room on the cellar - there used to be a second bathroom there, with bathtub and toilet, we pulled the whole lot out and put in a walk in shower. I now only use the bath upstairs for taking a bath or quickly washing my hair.

We had an hour and 10 minutes of sport, twice a week. That was either ball sport (football, rugby or basketball), atheltics, gymnastics or cross country. After 110 minutes running in mud, you really needed a shower, just to get the mud of you. Athletics gym or basketball weren't so bad, but you still soaked your clothes through by the end of the lesson. And those who didn't shower were derided by everybody else, so they usually did shower as well after a couple of weeks.
