The other thing to look out for is the use of " and ” to signify inches. Both those characters are quotes - the first is dumb, or sexless. The second is the close quotes. You see this a lot in Curry PC World adverts when they bang on about TVs, and you may even see them in store printed on cards.

There is a correct character fro feet and inches, but for some reason, this forum doesn’t like them (SQL errors happen when I sue them). Tsk.

That will be because Primes don't exist as glyphs in most typefaces. There isn't even an HTML code for them.

Agreed about fonts - depending on where you get them from will often determine how complete they are. There are, however, HTML entities:

Resurrecting a thread, partly because Cadbury's has done it again.

I'm finding it hard to believe that this is a deliberate stylistic choice.

The wonders of autocorrect...

That said, I find it dreadful how many people now rely on the auto-complete on tablets / smartphones when writing articles on the internet (posts in comments and forums as well, but the main article is inexcusable. The number of "professional" news sites, which have cut back on sub-editors and now complete autocompleted garbage is churned out and the articles make no sense in places!

That's been a real problem at the Beeb for a year now. Until people complain they'll carry on, so I'm gonna complain the next time I see it.
