I can't remember the last time that we ate out, probably the my setp-kids paternal grandfather's birthday, back in the summer.
If we go out, then it is often Tang in Osnabrück, a mixed buffet restaurant, nothing special, but a good selection of reasonable food - Chinese, Sushi and Mongolian.
Edit: I went to the Xing meeting (German equivalent of LinkedIn) on Thursday, had a Xing Burger at Manolo in Osnabrück, very tasty.

In Nottingham (obviously): Annie's Burger ShackAmazing selection of burgers including some that shouldn't work but do. Last Chance SaloonMassive selection of bourbons from common to expensive rare stuff and a bacon themed food menu. Heaven! KioskMore of a cafe and a bit of a hipster venue but the food is great.

Foie gras is not a popular food in the UK due to the horrendous cruelty to produce it so I'll give that a miss thanks Foie Gras: Cruelty to Ducks and Geese

Problem is not sure I would want to go to a vegetarian as a "night out" I like vegetables (and to paraphrase spitting image "Some of my best friend are vegetables") and vegetarian food - just with a large steak next to it

My step Mum told me she went to a vegetarian wedding and had vegetable pie for main course. I hope this doesn't become the norm and the meat eaters are the minority.

Went to the Turkish Kitchen in Peterborough. There were 18 of us so they did a load of platters. No sign of a vegetarian revolution going on there it's safe to say . I mean, there was salad but it was very much secondary to the piles of barbecued meat. Only mild issue was that a couple of folk ordered Kulfi for desert and it was obviously straight out a very efficient freezer - took a while to chip out of the pots. Tasted good apparently once they got to eat it.

I'm not a vegetarian. The food is not your stereotypical veggie stuff.

Nope, fair enough. But instead of a steak I had a big slab of aubergine that had been cooked very well, fried i think with some garlic and a nice dressing. It was frankly better than 90% of the steaks I've ever had in restaurants. In fact it even looked a bit like a steak when it turned up. It's not about being 'vegetarian' or not, it's about 'is the food good' or not. The food was very good. Beyond that I don't really see the issue. It's all stuff you eat at the end of the day. Unless you're a complete salad dodger in which case KFC will probably do you.

When my mum ran a Hog Roast business she used to do a very nice veggy pie - loved a slice with a large slab of cracking
