Actually, I quite like wood...Got a really nice desk made from Oak which my Grandfather built for me.

my bed is made out of wood, its a bit wobbly but i dont mind, its better than a metal one  i also have a wooden shelving unit and bedside table,the are both quite nice to look at, except the bedside table is covered in dents from my keyboard

It depends on the wood.
I like natural wood furniture but then with other things, such as the GFs family's summer house, I prefer that that's painted otherwise it wood look like a huge version of their sauna.

It's nice to know some ladies do appreciate a nice piece of uncovered wood. However, I'm not sure if your views are entirely representative. It's not that I'm questioning your femininity, but you do both have a rather tom-boy attitude to some things. Zippy enjoys greasing up and tinkering with her vintage Saab 900, and oceanicitl is an IT guru. These are not the most stereo-typical girl-things. Are there any stereo-typical girls on here who like pink fluffy ponies, or am I asking on the wrong forum
