A good repellent for mice is to put used cat litter in yoghurt pots around your property.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Complete load of trap. There's one in my room. Doesn't repel the mice one bit!

Anyway, next to the desk is a big stack of cardboard boxes (stuffed full of my old school notes I was banging on about it another thread). This is pressed tight against the wall and the desk but because of the skirting board there's a tiny gap between the bottom box and the wall.

Last night, the mouse was popping in and out from behind the box. The trap I had set was close to it and it had triggered it off. Like the other mouse, it wasn't dead. But the funniest thing was that it was trying to get back in behind the box but couldn't. After much faffing around, it seemed to have disappeared. I wasn't sure whether it was still behind the box or not so, bracing against the bed, I used my legs to push the bottom box against the wall. I had a look but couldn't spot anything and didn't hear anything so assumed the mouse had already buggered off.

This morning, I had a look with a torch and the damn thing's stuck there, apparently dead. Given the hassle with the last mouse, it wouldn't surprise me if it was still alive and just being quiet. Gotta head to work, otherwise I'd have poked it with a stick to see if it was alive, then moved the boxes and dumped it out.

Stupid mice.
