I had a feeling that it had changed, but couldn't quite be sure. I think after the initial... "wrongness" of having avatars on the right i've gotten over it. Now imo i think having the Avatars on the left detracts a bit from the post since imo it takes up too much space. Other forums have it fine since the avatar/user column only takes up say 1/8 or 1/7 of the screen as opposed to 1/5. Although i'm sure i'll get back used to it this way as well

At first I really didn't like them on the right, but now I prefer it.

Left, to avoid scrolling on small screens.
The user column could shrink slightly, but normally the sigs waste most of the space.

Left I think. Was strange at first but I quite like it now.

Took me ages to get used to being on the right, but I've got used to it now, and actually quite like it. Gone back to the old theme anyway, those white boxes were annoying me.

I should have been consulted. This is an outrage. I'm just too livid to comment further.
I like pie (not a comment - fact!)

I've voted Left for exactly this reason.

Same, when I read an email I see who it is from before reading the text. Similarly when I receive a text message I like to see who it is from before reading the content. The same is true with forums.

From a usability perspective left is the logical choice.

Not at all. I can see a name above the post so I know who it is from. Also in most cases I can also see whose avatar it is with peripheral vision, and most importantly if it is on the RHS I don't have to side-scroll.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Why is it different if it's on the LHS then? Surely it takes up the same amount of screen space?
