Personally, I prefer to eat kale after it's been turned into meat by bunnies. It's been more popular as a fodder crop than anything else for as long as I can remember!

That's not to say it's bad eating; I'm just not that fond of strongly flavoured cabbage type stuff myself. However, it's a vegetable box regular. When I have to cook it then much as everyone suggests; I add lots of strong flavours to try and disguise it. One of my favourites is:

Heat oil in a pan until it's smoking and throw in lots of cumin.
When it's dark and smells right, add lots of garlic and and onion and turn the heat right down.
When the onion is softened, melt in some butter and add the shredded de-ribbed kale.
Cover and cook for about 5 - 10 minutes depending on your preference, adding a little stock if it looks dry.
Season well with salt and black pepper, and add plenty of fresh coriander if you have it.

You can add a lot of other ingredients such as chillies, red pepper, mustard seed, almonds and lemon juice or balsamic vinegar. You can make it a more substantial dish by frying some chopped boiled potato in with the onion, adding turmeric with the butter and a few chopped tomatoes near the end. This dish probably tastes best without the kale.
