The really bad thing is they are so utterly out of touch with the norm, both in terms of basic morality and the current economic situation, that they actually think attempting to buy their way out of the situation - with our money in the end - is somehow going to endear them to the general public. Did anyone watch Question Time last night, I'm not usually a fan, but I particularly enjoyed lasts nights affair.
Watching Hague squirm was a laugh, and as for that labour MP, oh deary deary.
I will still continue to spoil my card each yeah, and still think they're all as bad as each other, but I did enjoy last night.

I made a point of watching it, purely because it was trailed as a "special" and was at a sensible time of night.
Being a live broadcast also adds a level of interest, because it can't be edited before broadcast.
I enjoyed it, and it was plain most of the audience were enthusiastically angry with the politicians in general. It was interesting to note Vince Cable was treated quite fairly. Even though both William Hague and Ben Wotsisface (he looked like a scared rabbit most of the time!) took the brunt, I think they actually came out of it fairly well.
Not sure about the UKIP woman, but she made some sense at times. Alibhai-Brown was almost incandescent with rage at times, and Martin Bell kept bashing the independent line, which was good.
I reckon David Dimbleby should be Commons Speaker. He asks the awkward questions at the right time, and really has a sense of the public mood.

+1 for that, although I was a bit dissapointed they didn't go with a show of hands for the general election. Maybe because they already knew what the result would be?

Hell yeah!
Alibhai-Brown made a very good argument against having an election too soon. I think I agree with her.

Am I the only one here waiting for somebody to nominate Jeremy Clarkson for the job?

Clarkson would want to stick a V8 to the Speaker's Chair. I don't think he's the right man for the job, to be honest. James May, though, would be right at home in the gentlemen's club atmosphere...

Oh, crap. Because they changed the times, I missed it, so I’ve just read a whole load of spoilers. I’m going to catch it on iPlayer later today. Spoilers for a politcial debate programme.

If the previous week’s was anything to go by, I can imagine that it was. Actually, it surprises me that they can get politicians on that programme given the roasting some of them get recently. Bet Hazel Blears won’t be returning any time soon.
