I assume you can record the disciplinary?
May be useful for later proving that they are incompetent and you weren't going to break your moral code to deceive customers
I'd still suggest someone accompanies you, as a moral support thing (instead of seeing a load of people on the other side of a table and just you).
Best of luck with it, I'm sure I'd kick off in a shop if I knew this was going on.

Very definitely a good idea to be accompanied. If you are a member of a Union then then take a Union rep (even if the company doesn't recognise them). A honking great big recording device is also a good idea.

I'm sure there are laws about recording devices, if you take one then make it very clear (on tape) to the managers that it is in use.
Good luck, I hope everything goes well.

Looks like a tip-off to Trading Standards might be in order.

If they do sack you, I assume you would take them to the tribunal?
My mum got fired from a local tea-house when she stuck up for her rights because they didn't want to pay her any holiday pay.
The tribunal dealt with it very well, and she got her pay-out.

yes its a weight of my mind but on Saturday the whole of the counter staff walked out and went sick that's 15 members of staff all doing this for the same reason, repacking prepacked goods for resale
the big guns arrived in-store today and interviewed everyone i was already having my disciplinary when they arrived it was halted then an hour later reviewed by them
they decided that the case against was not valid therefore dismissed the case as opposed to dismissing me
now all i have to do is keep my head down and get on with my job …

well done for sticking to your guns and well done to your workmates for there "sickness en mass". remember at the moment unless you give reasons for gross misconduct they have to be really carefull around you other wise theres a case for victimisation!

Nicely done.
Also nice to know that the practice is considered unacceptable within the company and it was just a rogue manager causing the problem, not a culture.
