Sliverlight is available for the Mac.
I did install it a while back, but it's been removed again. It's hardly used outside the Microsoft web site that I can see.

Yeah, even new stock photography sites don't even use it. (8+D Mark

They do use Flash, though, sadly.

Well, yes. I hate being locked out of anything in the world of computers… even Silverlight.

Following my recent iPhone/HTC thread, I'm going to get the HTC HD2 within the next week or so, so I'd like to get an answer to this as well.

Frankly, you're not missing anything. It's just Flash by another name, essentially. If you don't visit the sites that require a Silverlight plugin - which are pretty rare, as far as I can see - you won't be missing a thing.

According to reports, "Ballmer said that the first handsets running the new OS should be ready fo the last quarter of 2010." So, don't hold your breath.

Agreed. And why is it so huge? A third of the screen is taken up by a massive chunk of text that you can't see most of. And why does it scroll? It's a title - either you need to see all of it or none of it. I can see no point in only letting you see part of it. And why has nearly every icon got some smiling goit's face on it? The blue squares with pictograms on were much better.

Microsoft's answer to mobile operating system upgrades is to buy a new device...

Two out of three people in the local Phones4U had never even heard of Windows Mobile 7, and one of them tried to convince me that it is an operating system for peeee ceeeesss and will not work on a 'phone.

I never enter that shop unless I want to cheer myself up with their lack of knowledge. The thing is that none of them actually care about mobile phones. They only care about getting as much commission out of you as possible.

As long as it works on my phone (XDA Zest) and it better than the tripe that was WM6.1, I'll have it.
WM6.1 gets on my tits with it's sluggishness and its inability to close opened programs. And it looks arse too.
