If you want an expensive mouse that will get people talking then you might consider the Magic Mouse.

Reviews seem mixed. More of a Marmite Mouse than Magic Mouse. Some friends love theirs though.

p.s.

8-) , but I'm a tactile feedback kinda person :)

I was actually surprised at the amount and variation of Apple kit Argos does (that's where I first seen the above) :)

Yeah, me to.

An interesting product. I might try one if I get one free with my next Mac.

Apple mice are often not the best of devices. Though I did like the mouse despised by so many that came with my first iMac.

I think I'd draw the line at that one by the look of it ;)

You're not the only one.

The best mouse I ever had was a no-name 11-button mouse. Fit perfectly in the hand and totally configurable.

I miss it

Jesus fcuking wept, there are far too many sites out there who don't give a detailed list of specs - including the manufacturers themselves :x :x :x

Trust Wireless Optical Mini Mouse MI-4930Rp

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Trust-Wireless- ... 842&sr=1-1

After much fannying about  , that popped up on Amazon and seems to have everything I want at the right price - I'll let you know how I get on with it on arrival.

Unless anyone has any better ideas? ;)

The above mouse is absolutely brilliant, highly recommended if you're in the market for one;

Only takes one AA battery (supplied) and the mouse is light anyway.

USB receiver is tiny and can happily be left in a laptop's USB port (or fitted into the base of the mouse for storage).

On/off switch to save battery power.

All the buttons have a satisfying but quiet click.

On the buttons front, you've got one for adjusting dpi settings, back/forward buttons placed sensibly above where your thumb rests at the side of the mouse, and left/right scrolling with the wheel if you find you need it :)

The mouse is a decent size too without being ridiculous ;)

The only bad points I can see are the scroll wheel is just slightly too high, but that's my personal preference, and the mouse wouldn't be suitable for the left-handed.

Other than those minor quibbles, I'd advise buying one - you can always send it back if you find you don't like it ;)

Oh yes, your cat just 'found' it like that, did he? ;)

Besides, that thing won't work with Windows 7 (something I forgot to mention above)...

I swear on my MacBook Pro, she brought it to the door then the Mrs decided to take a photo. Unusually she ate the head, that's usually left behind.

Blimey, that looks exactly like the VX Nano, for about a third of the price. Well done that man.

It's worth getting just as a spare, or one you can leave in work or something for that price. My dad's ordered one for his netbook too :)

I steer clear of mini mice. They hurt my hand after 10 minutes.

I want a wireless mouse the same size as a normal desktop mouse. I don't need 30 buttons, and I don't want to pay over £30 :x

And I really, really don't want a USB receiver that's bigger than those nano versions. Why in the name of sanity do they still bother to manufacture the versions that stick out the back of your laptop by 2 inches?

EDIT: why is it useful for the mouse to be physically smaller? It doesn't save significant space or weight, it just gives users cramp. A normal sized mouse will still balance on a small flat surface and be very usable.
