I still have my Syndicate disk and manual! I heard about the Syndicate reworking. I do hope that there will be a mac version.

A few more oldies for you...
Chuckie Egg. The Dragon 32 and Amstrad CPC464 version were both good, if I recall but wasn't there a rather bad PC version?
Tempest. I don't remember having seen tis on a home system, (except MAME) but dang this was a brilliant arcade game!
Road Rash. The Sega Megadrive. Excellent game.
I'm sure there are more but these are the ones that initially spring to mind.

That looks good, (very good in fact) but I'd probably be just as happy digging up a Megadrive emu'

+1 for Road Rash, especially with a good soundtrack behind it

Not as old as the games mentioned above but I'd like to see an updated Carmageddon. Ant Attack would be great. The creator of Ant Attack has an interesting home page here: Clicky

They updated the graphics in Elite but also overcomplicated it. It lacks the fiendishly addictive appeal that comes from being very, very, playable, as with Chocks Away et al. However, I believe that being playable doesn't necessarily mean being ridiculously simple. Playability used to be the only aim, back in the day when a game's graphics were more-or-less unimportant (choices: crap graphics or no graphics). Nowadays flight sims etc are all about the desparate boredom of flying over enemy territory for 3 hours then being shot down because you forgot to change one of the 30 settings on your stealth fighter's ECM (F-22 Raptor, I'm looking at you. You killed flight sims for me ) *dons grey cardigan*

^^^ I used to love flight sims. My fave was EF2000. I would love a remake of this. I bought my first complex joystick Squadron Commander specifically for this game. The attention to detail was dazzling. Flying over SAM sites was more scary than Doom, Wolfenstein or Duke Nukem 3D.
