Overall i thought Matt Smith managed to cement himself as another niche of quirky-ness for the Doctor... however i almost gave up on it after he spat out the 3rd item of food in a row.
I think i'd be pretty interested in following on with the season... had gotten rather bored with the thought of watching the specials. Didn't even watch the very last one ;>.

Yes but that could have been the 45th take. The Telegraph thinks the episode was racy. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvan ... r-Who.html

Not good when you are eating dinner.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I for one will be happy to see more of Karen Gillan.
She has the potential to be the best assistant yet.

I quite enjoyed it.
My reservations about Matt Smith vanished almost immediately. I thought he looked too young for the role when they first announced him as the new Doctor, but he pulled it off rather well.
I too liked the bit at the end when he squared up to the aliens and told em to push off, though it did remind me of the recklessness Tennant's Doctor displayed in the final scene of The Waters of Mars. Maybe the role needs that edge to balance the humour though.
The teaser trailer at the end looked intriguing.

Just watched it (I had the HD version recorded from earlier). Quick summary
Like: The new theme tune - it has the eeriness the initial Radiophonics Workshop version had Amy Pond - She's a decent enough actress and presentable (although not at all my type sadly). I do hope she's not going to be too much of a plot device though, a lot of her actions were very, very convenient for the plot. And does a small village really have much of a market for a strippogram? And would you want a strippogram from someone you'd known since childhood?
Hate: The new Logo - let the teaboy loose with the emboss filter did you? The plot - It struck me the show was set at breakneck pace in the hope people wouldn't spot the gaping plot holes. The Doctor - as a character so far I'm not liking him. He's likeable enough but he has no gravitas, no sense of power about him. I think this is largely in the writing.
Not sure about: Matt Smith - He is horribly, horribly young. And far too fresh faced (OK, maybe that's a pun). If it turns out that it's not the writing and he just can't handle the non-frivolous aspects of the character well, I guess it's not entirely his fault. But so far he's not convinced me to any great degree.

She commutes to the nearest big town to do that.

I liked it.
I did notice some plot holes but didn't think about them too much.
Didn't much like the food spitting.
Love Amy Pond!
Would like to see more of the new TARDIS though. Looks very interesting although his remarks about the library and swimming pool were a bit confusing at the beginning of the show as the TARDIS has been shown previously to only have one room in its former incarnation.
I think Matt Smith played it well though. Although I feel he has still to stamp his own mark on the role.

Haven't seen it yet, so just scanning the thread carefully. But his remarks aren't confusing if you've seen any pre-Eccleston Who. Other rooms have been mentioned throughout the canon.

Other rooms have been seen - a second console room (made of wood), the cloister, a lot of stars (I remember those from one Tom Baker episode), as well as other areas. I think Smith will take a while to bed in - it took me a few episodes to start to like Tennant. Oddly, I like Eccleston from the off. I think Smith is going to be playing an old man with a young body. It’s early days for him - no doubt he’ll flash out.

Strange man alone in a house with a child and an absent aunt. Wow social services would have a field day with her family.

The Cloister room was the one in my mind, but I knew there were others. I also loved Eccleston from the minute he grabbed Billie's hand - superb. Dave took me an ep or two as I recall. My little sis is 14 and she was boycotting Smith! Girls Gonna watch the ep tonight and then I'll report back.

Logopolis. That was on the SciFi channel this weekend. It was the Baker>Davison story.
