I get the jist of it : the two men with the bats hit randomly. If they miss nothing happens. If they hit or if the stumps are hit then either they are out or maybe they can manage to score a few points, obviously not if someone catches the ball directly, or gets the ball back etc. It's all played in the summer with pimm's and cucumber sandwiches EDIT : It also teachers you geography of the commonwealth :p

I used to dislike cricket, too. I dismissed it as tedious and long-winded. Then I got it. There's a lot of tactics involved over a full test match, which aren't that obvious until you really begin to follow what's going on. While it may appear to be all about the blokes waving their bats about, it's more about the bowler trying to knock out the wicket, or force the batsmen to hit a ball and be caught. Still, I'd not expect everyone to understand. I don't like football, but I can appreciate there's a level of skill involved. Baseball, on the other hand, is just rounders with added safety gear.

I almost dropped my cucumber sandwich (having read your response). Now that would have landed me in a pickle...

theyre even more frightning when compounds break, had a few cases here where at archery competions the compound bow has snapped and the coils at the front gashed into the guys head and killed him instantly, not pretty

Snooker is definitely a sport.
Fishing is not.
Cricket. Well I'll watch 20/20 but certainly not a test.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I would say snooker is a sport. Not sure about fishing - although there is definitely a level of skill involved. I've been on quite a few fishing trips and caught sweet F.A

Could fishing be an art instead of a sport?

I think of fishing as a pastime, but I do know that it can be competitive in terms of weight of beast caught.
