In all seriousness, you can never make anybody do anything. You can only create circumstances in which they want to do it themselves.

I meant what I said about looking to their motivations. If the NVQ is such a piece of piss, take some time out from trying to learn French and try to understand what the kids are about, what there aspirations are etc. You may be surprised to learn that most people in their lives don't care. That's usually why they're absolute [LIFTED]. Figure out what they want for themselves and then tie that to the lesson.
