Probably not. I will use it to point to my website once the site is complete. I do on the whole like to keep my work and online life as two separate things. That said if I run into problems I will of course share so that I can gain from the incredible combined brain that is X404

hmmmm, by registering a domain and creating a work site, are you not putting your work life online? Didge.

Not really. You wouldn't necessarily go into a pub and tell everyone your website address, so if you look on this place as being a sort of "online pub" it's not that big a surprise.

You might not want to give out your website address in a pub if your key demographic isn't there. In CC's case he wants to keep his work life and X404 life seperate and obviously that's his choice to make.

Word of mouth is a wonderful thing. Your clientele may not be in the pub but those that are may be close to it. I fully accept the decision for someone to not advertise their 'site, but I don't think the analogy fits this occasion. Just my opinion. (8+) Mark

Oh yes. Though of course it won't be MY work life. The clinic site is for is not run by a cat. The work of ChurchCat and the way that CC gets the money to pay for his catnip are two separate things. There may well be a time when I combine the two but at the moment only a few know my non feline name or where I live and work. (With the exception of some who went to the Mac meetups). There are many that don't even know what I look like as there are few images of me out on the web. (If you find one please don't post it here). I enjoy the avatar frontage, it allows me a illusion of privacy.

It would be funny if, by coincidence a colleague or friend of yours was also a member of the forum but neither of you realised.
