2nd. It's not a genre I really bother with - and the thing with this kind of question is it's all too easy to slip in "other" films into the category - Amelie for instance, I would not call Rom-Com, as I wouldn't say Big Fish is - but both are v.romantic and both are v.funny.

I was going to suggest Terminator. Waitress meets soldier form the future, they have a misunderstanding but she eventually sees that he is not a threat to her and they go on the run together, hiding from a killer robot from the future. They fall in love and she has his baby. How much more romantic do you want? It was a bit light on the comedy through.

As well as some already mentioned (I havent read every post so forgive me if this has already been said) 50 First Dates pulls it off quite well IMO
