No. Not much rivals The Wire. But this does, at least for the human drama element I already mentioned. Honest. Anyway, we all need to get ourselves up to date and watch Treme. That includes me.

I tried to watch an episode of BSG, it bored me so much I stopped watching half way through, similar to 24, I think I'll give this another watch.

She was about the only thing wrong with the first season (hot or not  ). I seem to remember season 2 being quite convoluted from the beginning, so I gave up and didn't see much point in going back really... _________________Plain English advice on everything money, purchase and service related:

That's when I stopped too. I'd add that if you watch 24 week to week, its absurdities are not as obvious as when you watch it back to back in a DVD set.

I've just bought Season 1 on DVD, only to find that I might have to watch a BSG mini-series first. Is that correct, or can I just start with Season 1?

The mini-series is lovely and sets it up, but you could roll with season 1 without too much trouble, if finding the mini-series is hassle.
