'bout 7 miles west of Reading - big gap in clouds with hazy horizons, couple of big juicy ones N & NE last 15 mins!

Saw my first at the beach this evening, about 10pm.
Lots of people out watching/fishing off the beach, had to explain to someone a.) What they are b.) Where they come from c.) Why they don't obliterate the Earth when they land.
I wouldn't mind, but here's me teaching someone twenty years my senior something I've only a passing interest in. It's like the people in work that mistake an adult duck for a baby penguin.

The best tails seem to be NNW, other directions bright but no tails, 'bout one big one every 4-5mins, few lessers in between, so not exactly spectacular but still fun. 'Sposed to be best after Midnight so I've read.

The Perseids are a bit low right now, I have seen a few but they are tough with all the light pollution around here.

I've just left it on bulb for a few minutes while I come in and post.

Same here - I've seen a few but I doubt the camera has picked them up.

Curiously, I'm seeing more to the northwest than the northeast.

Partial cloud and lots of light pollution.

I'm only seeing two things, and one of them's called Jack.

Well, at least I've seen plenty. I'm betting the camera didn't pick up a single flippin one!

The number of times I've seen a bright one flash across the sky between shots is appalling.

Night all.

Just a couple last night. There's quite bad light pollution to the North so meteors low in the sky are difficult to see. I'll have a look tonight, though.
