I find it ironic that apple fanboys are complaining about the use of a proprietary solution in a competitor's product

No irony. We will complain about anything really.

I kind of appreciate it too tbh. It is a bit of a facepalm moment though, you have to admit... Jon

Apple is amongst the manufacturers who are in on the USB charging idea. Whether their next iPhone carries this through remains to be seen.

So.. This screenshotwas the image Viewsonic were originally using on their website to promote their 10" tablet computer, which can dual boot either Windows 7 or Android 1.6. Have a look at that image - what OS does it look like it's actually running?

Watch this clip. Ballmer has problems using Windows on a touch interface. He seems reluctant to talk about it, at first moving the reporter on and away from the problem. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/c ... 362134.stm

Does anyone know how the 3G works on an iPad? I'm considering getting the Wi-Fi + 3G version for the GPS feature but I don't want to have to sign up to a SIM contract to get it.

IIRC you can get PAYG iPad tariffs. Not sure exactly how they work but I think the depend on a certain top up amount each month in order to get your "free" data. here you go ... http://shop.orange.co.uk/ipad/ipad-choose-your-plan
