It's been a while since we had a big smash at the first corner. I'm glad no one appears to be hurt but it's nice to get a mixup like this, especially when it involves a couple of the front runners in the standings.

After seeing the replay a few times from different angles/cars, it would appear to be Grosjean at fault. And still waiting to hear if Maldonado jumped the start. If not it was a great launch!

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Great race. Let's do away with the processions and stick to long, wide and beautiful circuits that provide races that aren't hindered by back-markers, and give drivers a chance to earn healthy leads and maintain them.

Possibly a bit of a shame that there weren't more pit stops, Pirelli could have gone with softer compounds.

Comments suggesting Massa was doing quite well didn't really consider that without the first corner incident he could easily have been 4 places down at the end of the race.

A couple of incidents early in the race that will be considered after the race. A good thing in a way, it could penalise driver/teams more with a 5 place penalty at the next race than a drive-through on the current one. they just don't know what they'll get so more consideration is required.

Maldonado, maintaining consistency. ;)

Great result for Button, very dominant show from him. Pretty close racing further back too.
But how awkward is this new podium interviewing?!! Makes you cringe, doesn't it?

The coverage I have is free for every race, but interspersed with many commercial breaks. I have Aussie presenters at the start and finish, and around the breaks with MB for the main commentary. The Aussie presenters mention 'news' but don't talk about it, and it is quite frustrating, but at least the race is covered by MB and I don't have to endure the BBC coverage. The BBC coverage is better than nothing, but not what it was last year.

Grosjean has incurred a one race ban for his efforts. Oh and Maldo gets 2 5 place grid penalties for his misdemeanours.

I saw that Grosjean has got a ban on both the BBC and Sky websites, but couldn't see anything about Maldonado - just out of interest, where did you hear this from?

EDIT: Forget that, it's just popped up on the Sky website (unless I was just blind before!)...

Brilliant display from Button, just when he needed it.

Oh, it's bloody awful. I hope it doesn't catch on.

They really are atrocious.

I'd put money on the fact that Sky is behind them. At least they could get people who are familiar with interviewing on TV.

Well, not quite yet! This exclusive is from Eddie Jordan - not exactly known for speaking sense or predictions. As far as I can see, he has no concrete proof of that fact, sounds like one of his hunches. I'll believe it when there's an official announcement, although I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave Maclaren. His behaviour over the last few weeks, and especially this weekend with his tweeting disaster, won't exactly have endeavored himself to them. Let's see how this one unfolds.

EDIT: This has just been tweeted by BBC F1...
Quote:
McLaren spokesperson on BBC F1 Lewis to Mercedes story: "We have been told by Lewis Hamilton's management team that the story is untrue".

In other news, chuffed to see that ex-F1 driver Alex Zanardi got gold in the Paralympics today in the Handcycling

Well done, Alex!
