From Popbitch:

Quote:
Endlessly quo-table

We must have behaved well lately.
Every night for months now we've
said a prayer hoping that the
Status Quo action film, Bula Quo,
would be good. And our prayers
have been answered. Big time.

Here's an example:
Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi
find a doll with a bomb strapped
to it.
"It's a doll!" says Francis
"It's a bomb!" says Rick
Then they both look at each other
and shout "It's a blow-up doll!"
before running out of the room.

Suddenly, I want to see that film.

The only thing that would have made that a perfect story would be if his job was Police Commissioner.

One of the comments on a beeb article about misquoted lyrics:

Quote:
"Sweet Dreams are made of cheese; Who am I to diss a brie; I travel the world and the Cheddar Cheese; Everybody's looking for Stilton."

Also, Madonna's La Isla Bonita
Quote:
Last night, I dreamt of lumbago

Very apt - I got a new mattress yesterday, and woke without back pain this morning. :)

I like:

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly;
A girl with colitis goes by.

There's a website dedicated to them and there is even a word that means 'a misheard song lyric' but I can't remember what it is. To be honest, apart from the first line, I think that Eurythmics one is a bit contrived.

My favourite one is a bit of an oldy - mishearing 'The Isrealites' by Desmond Decker for 'My ears are alight'
