I'm up a Stylus for my X1 from the O2 exchange, I could have kept my other battery + backplate too if I was lucky ;)

The Kapauku people of Papua think it is bad luck to work two consecutive days.

The !Kung Bushmen work just two-and-a-half days per week, rarely more than six hours per day.

Where's my passport.

When feeding, cows and deer align themselves north-south.
Apparently.

Ah but Extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields disrupt magnetic alignment of ruminants, so if you've not noticed it yourself that could be why. ;)

Yeah 'cos the Beeb have a great track record when it comes to reporting Science & Tech stories.

Actually, their pop science show The Big Bang Theory managed to debunk it last year. Reporting a finding isn't the same as believing it.

I mean, the Beeb doesn't believe in manmade climate change, does it? Oh, wait a minute... :D

Ducks have cold feet.

The artery and vein run parallel to each other in the ducks legs, the vein cools the artery, before it gets to the feet and conversely the artery warms the blood in the vein before it re-enters the main body mass.

It means that they don't suffer from painfully cold feet in cold water or ice and the body doesn't cool down so quickly, because the duck is standing on something cold.

I should think it is also useful on thin ice, they won't warm it up so much that it cracks and they fall through?

I learned that when your GF puts 3 copies of the Haslemere Herald on the shopping list and then you arrive home with 3 copies of the Farnham Herald then she isn't best pleased.
