My childhood record store of choice is set to close next month.
Rythmic Records, in Greenock, if you're curious.
This means the only place to buy music in Greenock will be Tescos.
A generation of children will grow up not knowing the joy of walking into the store, nosing through racks of CDs and vinyl with a vast range of styles and tastes, and hearing something that isn't on the radio and being moved to approach the counter and ask 'Excuse me, what's this you're playing? Because it is AMAZING.'
I know I'm being nostalgic, but it makes me sad to think that the present generation aren't going to know that joy.

I enjoyed browsing record shops when I was younger but can't say I really miss it now. Went back to the high street of my youth recently and was gutted how much it had changed. The pub where I celebrated passing my driving test was closed. The other pub where I used to go in my early 20s is now a Toby Carvery and the high street shops consisted of charity and coffee shops. I was quite surprised Jenny's burgers was still there :(

I've just had most of the signalling centre network in my head, then someone talked to me and the whole mental model collapsed :(

On the plus side, I've just learned how interlocking and route planning/permissions works on our system (something I've not previously had much to do with)

I get an aura before a migraine headache, this occurred today when i was playing Starcraft, quite difficult to fight things that keep disappearing beneath a large blurry disc, thought I was having a stroke for a second, that'll teach me to watch The Diving Bell and the Butterfly - only my second migraine, the first one was when I was 13.

Yes, funnily enough the single was out over 5 years before I was born and only got to number 16 in the charts...

It's one of those tunes that has a greater life than it sold copies of, at least if you're of a certain age.

Even more wow, I've just seen said ad and I think Jonah Louie may actually be in it.

In 1958 the USAF dropped a nuclear bomb off the coast of Georgia - not with the intent of it exploding, but jettisoning it prior to a crash landing.
They still have no idea where the bomb is, other than it's somewhere near Tybee Island.

I have friends in Georgia.
