If you'd heard that a couple in China were going to try and set a record for the longest Wedding Dress Train, what would you have guessed for the length?

On an unrelated topic, does anyone know of a good place to flog a 35mm camera that isn't E-Bay? I want to join the digital revolution but can't afford it until I get rid of the old unit.

Cheers.

Oooh what is it you're wanting to sell? :D

I've got an Olympus IS 3000 complete with the additional external flash unit that I still use on high days and holidays. The plan was to flog it and then buy a half way decent digital camera so I can try to get back into the photography habit. However looking around the web, people can't shift used ones for £40 so I guess it's back to the drawing board.

I apologise. I'd just sat through the 2005 remake of John Carpenter's The Fog and my brain had shut down for reasons of self-preservation.

I did a car boot today and managed to raise £120. The best thing was that it was just old junk that would have gone to the charity shop anyway :D

I must admit that I did get rather annoyed with a foreign gentlemen. I was selling a brand new item, worth about £40, for £5 to get rid of it. He asked me how much it was, despite it having a clear label on it, and just said "No, I'm not paying £5. I want it for £2" extremely arrogantly. I told him in no uncertain terms that I would rather give it to the charity shop than sell it to him.

Peter.

Sometimes the cultural and language differences make people appear rude, although they do not mean to.

A friend of mine once told me there is no Hindi word for "please"; at least not in the sense that we use it. Therefore, it would be perfectly normal to say "Just give me that" to a store keeper, which sounds very rude in English.
