Yeah, straw man arguments always work. Let me ask you a question back - I'm sat in a seat on a train. I have tablet in my lap in front of me. I have my headphones in. I'm watching a 15 rated film. Should I have to switch that tablet off and put it away if a family with a child gets on and sits in the same carriage?

You've already said you'll watch whatever you want wherever you want so it makes no difference if I answer that.

I'd not bother about watching Game of Thrones on a train, yes it's violent, and yes, there's some nudity, but nothing more than in other shows. And the kids on the train have likely seen that anyway. Mark

As in all things you can take the argument to excess Personally anything that is shown on Prime Time TV should be OK - would I watch porn on the train- no but likewise if you took your argument to its unreasonable conclusion then I am sure someone will say "Think of the Children" and ban all shows higher than a U Everyone will have their own threshold and for me Game of Thrones is not above mine

The problem is that Caz seems to be suggesting we should all try to figure out some sort of 'mean threshold' for everyone in the area. I think that's a) unfair (because the minority are imposing their view on everyone else) and b) practically speaking pretty unworkable. You have a choice not to look at stuff. That applies on a train or bus as well as on your TV. I appreciate with small children they haven't yet developed the socialisation to know that but IMO it's then their parent's responsibility to keep an eye on what they are doing. if It was a crowded train and someone sat next to me and had to have a small child sat on their lap because there's nowhere else for them to go, I would have a care about what was on the screen, because in that situation it's pretty much impossible for the parent to manage their child to the degree necessary to avoid them seeing it. But simply having kids around shouldn't preclude me from doing something that's not 'child friendly' that doesn't 'leak out' of my own personal space. If they invade that personal space and as a consequence see something they don't like, I'm not the one being rude. They are.

Neither Caz nor I said anything about "Child in the carriage" it's really a case of being aware of your surroundings, especially on crowded trains where people have no choice. It's similar to people wearing really strong perfume on trains. It's their right, but it's [LIFTED] annoying.

Or not washing and shoving their arm pit in your face or not taking rucksack off so you get whacked every time they move or not folding paper when reading it so they invade your personal space. I could go on....
