It is, and it's thriving. It seems to have attracted a lot of photographers, which pleases me. Most of my circles are photography related now.

Arses! I've been working with a small publishing company on a book cover. I had been asked to supply some concept ideas which they were going to pass on to another designer to make up. I've not been given a reason for not being given the final design work to do myself. I suspect it was a costs decision.
Anyway, I've just seen the final, published version. It is, frankly, crap. It is kind of what I was thinking, but the typography is shoddy, and it's not got the gravitas that I know it would have had if I were given the full job to do. I had worked out fonts, textures, etc. for the design, and had even gne as far as detailing them in the concepts. So narked off by this. I just wish I had been consulted with a couple of design drafts so I could have pushed it in the right direction.

Show them the finished version and tell them they should use you in the future if they want the work done properly (?)

Bloody silly cow. I was driving down the inside lane of the A38 (at 70 mph). There were cars in the outside lane doing just over 70. Then all of a sudden this silly middle aged bint pulled out of a layby (without indicating) right in from of me. I guess that's one was of testing whether the ABS in your car works at that sort of speed I genuinely don't think she had a clue what she's done even after I honked at her.

I had something similar happen to me. I was in the outside lane of a NSL DC, overtaking someone a few cars doing about 50mph. A lorry in a layby pulled out nice and slow. Instead of slowing down or checking his mirrors/blindspot, he pulled out on me. Hit the brakes hard. Think I was inches off his back bumper. He looked very sheepish as I went past him after he moved back to the left lane.

Some people seem to forget (or simply don't care - lorries, I'm looking at you) that pulling out of a layby or junction into moving traffic that the moving traffic has right of way. We (I lift share) have to pull out of a really crappy junction onto the A1 to leave work. It can take some time for a decent gap to appear in the traffic that's safe to move into. Some other people just zoom up the slip road assuming everything will get out of their way as they lurch across onto the A1. The infuriating thing though is the lack of courtesy. Yes, the traffic on the A1 has right of way. It would be nice, however, if people bimbling along in the left hand lane would check to see if it's safe to go to the right hand lane to let the traffic on the slip road join and do so if it is in good time. The number of tossers who can't be bothered to move over when there's an entire clear lane next to them is incredible. Gah!

In my case I couldn't swerve into the right lane as it was full.

I do find that people on slip lanes seem to think they have priority over joining. You are joining me and hence you must give way to me. That's what the road markings indicate. Please be prepared to come to a stop if there is no suitable gap rather than trying to push your way in.

It can actually be extremely dangerous when people aren't polite and let people out. You end up with a row of stationary traffic trying to join traffic doing 70mph, rather than two lanes of similarly moving traffic merging. There was a nasty pile up on the M11 I saw, caused because a dozy woman in a camper van was overly cautious and stopped on the slip road rather than forcefully merging her way in the way you have to do when it's busy. There were similar incidents on a daily basis on the M1 southbound when the roadworks were there. The sliproad ended suddenly, often before people had a chance to merge. If people just let them in politely, no one would have to die.

Pedestrians: Here's a top tip... if you have no intention of crossing the road at a zebra crossing, don't stand at the bleeding edge of it!! Twice today, at two separate zebra crossings, I've come to a halt to let someone cross, only for them to wave me on (once they've watched me brake) as they're having a nice little chat with friends or on their mobile - FFS, thanks a bunch!!
This seems to happen a lot to me, but twice in the same journey to work is a first. It's impossible to gauge whether they're simply having a chat or if they actually do want to cross the road, and when they do decide they want to cross they expect the traffic to suddenly screech to a halt.

Why can't people detect urgency in requests and respond appropriately?!?
