If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Looked like Weber, Hamilton , Vettel but then Vettel decides to try to take his own team-mate out and crashes himself. What a numpty

Yeah, good race and one that showed Jenson to be on pace with Lewis (if there was any doubters still).

It amazes me that both Horner and Vettel are blaming Webber.

Webber was holding the line for the upcoming corner, so Vettel would have to out-brake him on the outside.

From the in car shot, when Vettel moves across, he doesn't move the wheel to the right, but something obviously pitched the car quitely heavily in that direction. He did say, he lost the car. That makes me wonder if the rear right puncture happened there and then, and caused him to lurch into the side of Webber, rather than as a result of the collision.

A puncture could explain it, perhaps tyre pressure telemetry will show this if the sample rate is high enough.

Anyway it was nice to see the Red Bulls lead get reigned in a bit before the incident.

Thats what I was thinking but, unless the sampling rate is several times per second, it is unlikely they would be able to spot it.

Probably even more unlikely now that Horner has blamed Webber. If he finds out it is a result of a puncture, would he a) back down and apologise to Webber, and b) admit that they had yet another failure?

Yep, McLaren have definitely closed the gap, although I doubt anyone was going to take the win from Webber.

Was also great to see Button and Hamilton going at it. I bet Martin Whitmarsh was having kittens.

Just seen a slo-mo replay of the collision.

Vettel's rear right looks intact as they touch, and is then punctured on heavier contact.

So, not a failure then.

The main problem was a loose nut between the steering wheel and the seat.

Yes they are definitely a good team and still challenge each other as they showed in the last few laps overtaking each other. Showing Vettel how it should be done.

Horner has blamed Webber

I have no idea why he came out and basically said that Red Bull favour Vettel. Really bad move.

Every independent commentator, all the former F1 drivers, placed the blame with Vettel. You can't expect Webber to just move out of the way and Horner was saying the important thing was a 1/2 for Red Bull. Obviously not, if that was the case he would have asked what the hell Vettel was doing veering right into Webber rather than just holding onto 2nd.

I watched the crash when the race was repeated, and the commentators blamed Vettel for changing his line. I can see that . Though I though teams are not supposed to have team orders any longer.

It was blatantly Vettel's fault for veering to the right, everyone commented on that in the post-race analysis and I agreed totally with their version of events. Then, to have Horner come back out of his meeting and imply fairly strongly that it was Webber's fault for not giving him enough room was astonishing. Webber gave him ample room and didn't change his position, what the hell did Horner expect him to do? It illustrates where Red Bull's loyalties lie, I just feel it's a shame for Webber. I quite liked Vettel before this incident, but his actions and subsequent reactions (i.e. the "loony" hand gesture, and the lack of an apology when he clearly was in the wrong) has put him in a different light. What a difference two weeks makes, when they were all celebrating at Monocco.

Still, I enjoyed Button and Hamilton's tussle shortly afterwards, my heart was in my mouth thinking they'd also take each other off - but it was all good, clean fun and very fair. They should show Vettel that footage - how to treat your team mate with respect!
