I forgot to mention that she'll probably be in hospital for a week or so then confined to bed, (and if you knew her you'd realise how funny that is - she doesn't like not doing anything) for quite a while, so I'll be rigging up the DVD player onto the bedside table and leaving a big pile of films to keep her entertained. Right! Coffee! Washing Machine! Go Hospital!

Cheers Ben. You may all be wondering why I used the word "proper" in my FPOTD... For the benefit of anyone who doesn't understand the quote, (and a little insight into how my brain "works") people from Manchester, (not all people, but I have heard it a lot up here) seem, for some reason that is well beyond me, to use the word "proper" in sentences when it's not really needed. For example... Normal people would say "The car crashed into the lampost" and a percentage of northerners would say "The car proper crashed into the lampost" No... I don't get it either, and they don't appreciate me saying, (in a sarcastic tone) "Really! It didn't just crash? It PROPER crashed?!"

Yeah, init though. On a related note, I've just found out that Mrs. V may, (and if she has anything to do with it WILL) be leaving hospital tomorrow, which means that I'll have to take the rest of the week off.

Maybe, maybe not... I'm convinced that she'll get home and won't lie down and do nothing... I may have to get her mum over to give her a good talking to

Well, she managed to drop me in it yesterday, by mentioning that I "hadn't done the dishes or hoovered" when she went to visit the Mrs in hospital. She forgot to mention that it was the day that she went in, and I hadn't even neen in the house to do anything! Women, eh? Apparently she did text her when she'd realised the reasoning behing it, and pointed out the fact that I am doing everything now...

The Spon or Lurgi. Not plague. Unless you meant plaque, in which case see a dental hygienist.

Now that I work in Notts, I have been getting used to the odd colloquialism that I'd never come accross before, for instance, I couldn't work out for the life of me why people kept calling me "Dot"? Turns out it's "Duck" but the accent makes it sound like dot. Also if you're a grown up female they call you duck, and little girls are chicks, but some people call me chick, and some call me duck according to whether they are older than me or not!! I did completely understand your terminology in the use of the word "proper" though JV, it is used a lot by the people I work with, it's another way of saying "really" in the example of "His face was really ugly" they would say "His face was proper ugly" and I've found myself using it on many occasions
