I did not know that, but it is logical. When I joined this company, all the PCs were set to default to US letter size while half the templates were in A4. Much confusion around the printer there was.

It's convenient for Facebook that all the links to block apps aren't working but all the links to like or add apps are working.
Funny that. I'll be happy when I can block SongPop.

I find it easier to block things in Facebook by not logging into it.

And then each size down being the previous size folded in half, if that makes sense.

I'll be sure to remember that when I next have a need to dynamically generate PDF files that are A0

Gah! I got my GMC certificate through, which is great but I still haven't received my indemnity certificate despite paying medical defence organisation £5000. If I don't get it by Monday, I won't be able to work on Wednesday (need to hand it in along with the certificate). Best ring them tomorrow and get them to spend it first class recorded delivery.

I just found out that my brother was mis-diagnosed when he was 14 years old as being paranoid schizophrenic and agoraphobic. He's now 39. All those years he's been on medication for the side-effects of the medication for the side-effects of the medications for the conditions diagnosed, and now we find out that that was wrong. I can't begin to describe how upsetting this is for me. A lot of those years my Mum has been his home carer. That's 24/7/365 care. It's just really very frustrating knowing that all these years he could have been getting the correct treatment but that hasn't happened.
I'm just upset and angry and sad and frustrated and relieved. And hopeful that now he can actually start getting better.

Indeed, it sounds like very frustrating news.
Have you considered legal action against the institution that mis-diagnosed your brother?
If your mother has given up a career to be a carer, and your brother has missed out on a lot of quality of life, it sounds like your family deserves to be compensated.
Of course I don't expect you to want to talk about it, just a suggestion that's hopefully of some help.

Any reason given as to the mis-diagnosis, or is it a case that medical science is better at spotting the real problems than they were when he was 14? Anyway, I hope that you and your family can start to rebalance and that your brother gets better and that your mother can get the rest from what can't have been an easy time for her. Hopefully all will be well. Try not to get too angry about it. Yes, you have lost much, but it sounds like you'll be gaining much over the next few months. Enjoy that.

I hope everyone's life improves dramatically now they have the right diagnosis. Is it too nosey to ask what it actually is?

I'm furious just reading that, but I hope the future will be better than you were otherwise expecting now.
