I have COD Elite so have the new map packs.

Since one of the previous updates, we've all had warnings that we don't have up to date map packs. This is despite the fact that we do and have been playing them! Went for the newest update (which you really don't have much of a choice if you want to play COD online) and suddenly have to download them. Hope I don't have to redownload all of the map packs.

Gah! Now I'm having HDMI problems.

Bought a camera (mini-HDMI) to HDMI cable off egay. Plug it in and nothing. TV recognises something is trying to happen (screen flickers) but there's no image. Only £4 or so but still a PITA.

Finally got round to plugging in my R-Pi. Plugged in the keyboard and mouse. Plugged it in to the TV. Hooked up the network cable. Powered on. Lots of LED activity but nothing on the screen! What's worse is that this is one I bought off egay and the proper order from the supplier was gifted to my boss.

Not sure, but didn't Mr Zolo have a thread on the Pi somewhere? I seem to remember it having funny power requirements. He might be able to point you in the right direction at least...

Same TV?

Could it be a problem with the hdmi on the screen if 2 devices have issues?

Have you put an OS on the SD card yet? It doesn't do much without it (no BIOS on the RPi)

Three laptops in the house, all with broken power sockets/adapters. Common cause - one infuriating little boy!

I'm gunna kill him!*

* well, not actually 'kill' him, that would be bad; and illegal.

I'm gunna beat him to within an inch of his life!**

** well, not actually 'beat' him, as that would also be bad; and probably illegal too.

I'm going to jolly well shake my fist at him!

How many years pocket money will you have to stop to replace them?

Bl00dy Chinese Embassy  It really feels like they are not remotely interested in attracting business travellers to their country. Every time I have to apply for a business visa they've added some other stupid request that causes loads more work and they don't think to mention prior to the application being lodged.

Tried two cables on two different HDTVs. Have only 1 R-Pi to play with.

Bought a pack off egay that included AC plug, case, memory card, HDMI cable and something else (I forget). I then formatted the card (it had been partitioned but only one partition was visible) and tried to load Raspberian without success. I then found a 2GB SD card and tried that, initially without success. Had to download an older copy (v1r15) of the program to load the distro onto the card. Doesn't work. Then found a composite cable and that doesn't work but don't know if this is due to settings on the TV. I gave up as it was 2330 last night.

Thankfully, replacement sockets are only a couple of quid or so, it's just the ball-ache of stripping down the laptop to get the motherboard out, so I can desolder the old one and replace it. Alyson's is fixed - late last night - that was only a broken solder joint, Adam's is in bits and will be fixed tonight (if I can find the time), and Cam's replacement socket has arrived. I'm tempted to leave it a while as punishment, but sod's law says the heavy-handed little bugger will wreck one of the others again.

I've sunk over 20 hours into Darksiders 2 and it's 'doing a Skyrim' and freezing... apparently the game has quite a few bugs and they're looking into it. This is a game that was already much delayed :x :x :x

I'll probably wind up leaving it sitting for weeks until they 'fix' it, rather than risk corrupting everything done so far. This is a game with an enormous cast, side quests that tie into each other, large moves list... God knows how much I'll remember. Fcuking retards! :x

Spent four hours trying to print something today.

First of all ran out of hard drive space to spool it, so thought I'd better move the backup of a mate's broken laptop hard drive off my machine and onto the server.

Then realised that because I'm using a 250gb drive to back up a 2tb drive and there's only 12gb of space left on the backup there wouldn't be space to do tonight's back up, so I dug out a 5tb raid I had lying around to become the new backup drive.

Then the access control lists wouldn't work due to it not recognising the name I'd given it. Took me a while to work out this was because I had a drive with the same name mounted and it wouldn't have two share points with the same name.

Then I copied the backup of my mate's hard drive over, which took 50 minutes.

Then when I printed the document (which takes 5 or 10 minutes to spool) the printer utility just said an error had occurred. So I tried to print it in thirty page chunks. Print utility just said searching for printer for ages and didn't do anything. So I turned the printer on and off.

Printed another 30 pages. Didn't work. Reinstalled printer. Didn't work. Made PDF of document. Wouldn't print either.

Gave up, went home and got stuck behind a tractor towing bales on the a35 at 5.30 on the last Friday of the holidays who didn't want to pull over and had over a three mile tailback. Didn't go over 30 at any point of my 11 mile journey home.
