I only have a couple of people I text that do that, and they are current work colleagues. Mark

Do you have to work through it or is it second nature now?

Try thinking of how that person talks as you read it, playing the accent in your head

I hear their voice 8hrs a day, five days a week. I refuse to voluntarily imagine them speaking their text in my head. Mark

Don't like 'em that much, or is it just the accent?

They're knobs that I really wouldn't want to associate with outside of work/work related events. They know I'm moving shortly and want me to have a party in my new place, I just tell them no and they get upset that I don't want them in the place where I live. They keep going on about it, and that only strengthens my resolve to never have them in my flat. *laugh* Mark

Yes, work folks can be a pain in the arse. I don't socialise with any of mine...

Made a mistake on Saturday night, I ate the wedding soup, which turned out to have dumplings made of pork, instead of semolina. I only ate one small dumpling, I noticed straight away that it was pork, but it was enough to upset my stomach. I still have stomach cramps.

Get well soon Big D I had a Garden warming BBQ a few years ago and invited people from work. Did tons of food & a few didn't turn up which pissed me off. No explanation either. Won't be doing that again.

Our practice is going to have to update its computer systems in the future. The current program which we use for patients notes will stop being supported in twelve months' time. Today, someone from the company came - they will be our future port of call - and showed us the software. It's all very fancy with ribbon user interface, entirely mouse driven unlike our current system which is essentially keyboard driven and not too dissimilar from DOS. Just as she was leaving, she volunteered to show me how to use the interface on my computer - the idea being I can play with the look and feel of the program but won't be able to alter patient notes. I now can't use my label printer. This is essentially a sign of things to come. Modernisation for the sake of modernisation. If something won't work, we won't get support from the PCT (who are funding the whole thing, including new hardware) nor from the company.
