Excellent goal too, and they played well.

I don't think Portugal or the Ivory Coast can expect an easy match against N Korea. I thought they were very good, and could have beaten some big name teams with that performance.

Glad they got a goal for their efforts - I would have accepted another World Cup draw this time. Good match

I really enjoyed that game. Discipline and work rate of Koreans was admirable. They were very good technically, composed and business-like in their approach. Also lack of diving and general cheating was refreshing to see. Their unusual setup 5-3-2 but it worked very well against Brazilians.

First goal was incredible, I guess we'll never know if he meant or not. And what a pass from Robinho  8-)

All in all, time well spent watching that game. I am looking forward to Spain playing tomorrow, there is a plenty of catching up to do in terms of goals.

This.

To be honest, that was the first game that was worth watching at all. All the others have been complete tosh so far.

Great pas by Robinho for Elano.

Was Maicon's meant? Would we be asking if it wasn't a Brazilian? He took a glance up into the box before kicking the ball, and he's a defender, so it was probably meant as a pass but a goal's a goal.

Had it been me, I would whack it as hard as possible at the goalie, hoping beyond hope that he would fumble it into the net. A clean shot is obviously a bonus, Caruthers.
+1 for North Korea. Thats done more for international diplomacy than Team America (World Police) could ever have hoped!

The 1-1 with the USA has been looking better and better. Can the Swiss hold out?

Edit: Yes they can!

What is it with Spain and the World Cup?

I'm going to love listening to the Guardian podcast tonight. Their attitude seems to be if anyone other than Spain wins the world cup it will be an affront to nature.

I can't thank them enough for making me feel much better about our draw.

So it could end up being Spain vs Brazil?

That would be handy! :P

In the last 16, yes. I still wouldn't bet on it though, Spain could equally win their last two and the Swiss not.

IIRC it's the other half of the draw to England, so we'd only play either of them in the final if it came to it anyway. And I don't seem England getting that far, not unless something radical happens.

Ah okay, I don't know the draw very well.
