All my film camera gear is on eBay. It's a sad day but one that was always going to come. I have cheered myself up with a new Fujifilm X10 mind you!

Sad times. I'll pass that on to some of the students at work if you like.

I've got a Pentax P30 going on soon (when I can work out which of the two is the fully working one) with lens and a box full of brand new Lomo gear when it arrives in a couple of weeks. After that.... bye bye film

What's prompted the abandonment?

I used to enjoy being a part of the Lomography community but recently I've been turned off it big time. I'm going to blog about it when I get chance but in a nutshell it comes down to a new breed of hipsters and the amount of commercialisation by Lomo themselves.

On top of that I'm finding I don't have enough time to devote to both mediums and with a new 366 project on the way (baby due August) the film stuff will be gathering dust in the cupboard.

It is a shame because I really like some of it.

The vanilla vodka I've got doesn't really work with Scottish cola, but the experiments continue

It is a shame - when I visited the Lomo shop a couple of years ago, I took a friend who was shopping for a camera for his wife.
My friend's a focus puller, so he knows a bit about cameras in general and couldn't believe the prices for what is, essentially, a toy.
I'll be interested in your blog!
Lomo in general felt a bit like a fad, which is a shame. Personally speaking, I still like the physical creation of a negative. Either way - keep shooting, whatever it's on!

It was marketed like a fashion accessory. There's an Oscar Wild quote my ex was fond of: “Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.”

Of course, I went out of fashion a very long time ago

I now own a Fujifilm X10. It's gorgeous. That is all.
